With its origins in social dance, bellydance is one of the oldest dance forms in the world. Featuring movements that complement and enhance a woman’s, Bellydance.org states, “Belly dancing is natural to a woman’s bone and muscle structure with movements emanating from the torso rather than in the legs and feet. The dance often focuses upon isolating different parts of the body, moving them independently in sensuous patterns, weaving together the entire feminine form.”
Bellydance is performed all over the world, with each dancer bringing their unique style to the form. Bellydance allows a woman to tell her ever evolving story through dance. One truly beautiful aspect of bellydance is that you can begin at any age as it is a grounded form of dance that does not over stress the body…unless you want it to!
